Getting Spicy with Brightland

“ARDOR's label was crafted in collaboration with New York-based artist Marleigh Culver, and was inspired by summer heat, dawn and dusk of Southern California, and the artist's Thai heritage.”

This was one of those times were initially, I was approached for a potential project with Brightland, and while it didn’t go through the first time, I was so excited to be asked again for this very special release.

I admire the beautiful aesthetic of this brand and the idea behind the oil. Fresh, pure and clean. This project was also exciting to me since I had been hoping for a food-focused project while witnessing new brands and rebrands of food product and wish I could be apart of that. I love food and cooking, I grew up in a home surrounded by the love of food binding us all.

My dad is half Thai, and I grew up some years in my grandma’s home filled with Thai peppers drying in baskets. There were buckets of red everywhere, and I always love how shiny and crinkly they would get when dried. I wanted this label to echo to intensity and saturated taste of spice, and enjoyed playing with artful concepts of how to do that.

The first run sold out quickly, but thankfully a second run is being released March 16th, so get yours before they disappear.
